The following links will take you to sites that have graciously linked to the Phrontistery. Thanks to all who, seeing some value in my work, have chosen to share it with others in the online community. It is divided into two sections: major referrers, who send 20 or more referrals my way each month, and other referrers, who send fewer referrals. In order to get your page listed here, all you need to do is put a link to the Phrontistery on a web page (preferably to my main page at http://phrontistery.info, alternately to the International House of Logorrhea at http://phrontistery.info/ihlstart.html), and e-mail me wity your page's URL. I will then put a reciprocal link on this page either to the page with your URL or to the index page for your site, as you desire. My only restrictions are that the site must contain no adult or other offensive or illegal material or pirated software. Major ReferrersOneLook Dictionaries: A search engine whose database refers to hundreds of online dictionaries, including mine, enabling you to search them all simultaneously and find the definition of the English word you're looking for, or to compare multiple definitions of the same word. And best of all, it's free! YourDictionary.com: A site with thousands of links to online dictionaries and other language references of all sorts, including multilingual dictionaries, technical vocabulary lists, and any other dictionary you can imagine. StartWright.com: An excellent reference site for information technology workers who need remote access to information such as travel tips, career development, and, of course, words and language resources. The Vocabula Review: An online monthly magazine (perhaps the best of its kind) dedicated to the glorification and preservation of the English language. It is full to the brim with well-written and insightful articles on various language-related topics, and a valuable resource for language lovers. Homonyms, Heteronyms, Etc.: A unique collection of links, quizzes and other reference material on homonyms, heteronyms, homographs, homophones, etc. A valuable resource for teachers, students, and language lovers. Word Safari Megalist of Word Links: Ruth Pettis has compiled this page, one of the largest and most interesting links pages for material relating to words, language and vocabulary. alt-usage-english.org: A reference site for the enormously popular newsgroup, alt.usage.english. The site is a cornucopia of English reference materials, including hundreds of links to other useful sites. Scripps Howard National Spelling Bee: The web site for the largest and oldest spelling bee competition. A great resource page for students with a love of words and a talent for spelling, with information on how to improve your ranking and learn how to study effectively. Other ReferrersI hope you have found this site to be useful. If you have any corrections, additions, or comments, please contact me. Please note that I am not able to respond to all requests. Please consult a major dictionary before e-mailing your query. All material on this page © 2007 Stephen Chrisomalis. Links to this page may be made without permission. |
